Don’t let the header fool you–this is really the June post!  Where did the time go?!  The original plan was to get this in out in June, so you would all be able to “see stars” for July 4th.  Fortunately, stars are never out of style, so here we go!

Starbucks Stars
These are very easy and don’t require much in the way of supplies.

First, find a five-pointed star template by doing a Google search. This one is a little over 4″. Print it out and trace onto a Starbucks cup over the “Barista Promise” and cut out with scissors.

On the reverse side, use a scoring tool or something with a blunt point to draw lines between each point, inverted point and the center.

Starbucks Star Back

Carefully fold the star so it has dimension, as shown.

Now for a little finessing. On the folded edges, take some wax from an old candle (I used a tealight) using a screwdriver, end of a spoon, whatever you have around and wipe on folds of star. Then spray paint.

When paint is dry, use your fingernail and gently scrape off wax, revealing little snippets of the Barista Promise (you wouldn’t want anyone to think you used any ol’ generic cups, now, would you?!).

Punch a hole in one point of your star and string with cord. (I used 7 1/2″).  Hang as desired…
